Indian Overseas Bank Manipal School of Banking (IOBMSB) has been launched to recruit young graduates, train & appoint them as probationary officers in IOB.For the past few years public sector banks are filling their vacancies aggressively to keep pace with their private counterparts.
The Govt. of India has also formulated a common written examination which is being conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to fastrack bank recruitments.
Private banks such as ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank etc have forged alliances with private universities to offer PO training cum recruitment programmes.
Indian Overseas Bank has now joined that list by declaring 480 PO vacancies

Who are Eligible?
If you are interested to apply for IOB PO recruitment satisfying the following conditions is required:
* Age to be within 20 – 28 years only (+5yrs for SC/ST, +3yrs for OBC)
* Completed graduation with min. 60% marks as on Sep 1, 2013 (final year/semester students not eligible)
IBPS score is not required.Hence even those who have`nt appeared for common exam can apply.
Appear for Online Test:
All eligible applicants will have to participate in a online test (objective type) that is scheduled in the month of September.Qualifiers of the exam shall then be invited for Interviews.
The online test would contain 200 questions each carrying 1 mark for a total of 200 marks.While 0.25 would be reduced as negative mark, the duration of the exam is 120 minutes.

PO Job in IOB after 1 yr:
Candidates chosen through the aforesaid selection process will be admitted for 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance course at their Bangalore campus.
During the training period stipend of Rs.2500 (for 9 months) & Rs.10,000 (final 3 months) shall be paid to meet your expenses.
|On successful completion of the course, they shall be absorbed by Indian Overseas Bank as Probationary Officer.The monthly salary would be at par with other employees (approximately Rs.29,000 /month)|
The total cost of this programme is Rs.3.30 lakhs but students can avail an educational loan from IOB itself to finance it.
- A service bond for serving 5 years in the bank has to be signed at the time of joining the training.
- IOB shall reimburse the loan you had taken (interest included) from the 6th year in 5 yearly installments.
So to get back the money paid for closure of loan, you`ll have to stay with Indian overseas bank for atleast 10 years.
All those who fulfil the eligibility criteria should submit their applications only through online mode after paying Rs.500 or Rs.50 (sc/st) in cash using the provided challan at any IOB branch.
- After remitting the fees, visit iob.in & open the link that reads ‘recruitment of 480 Probationary Officers through tie up with academic institution’
- Fill up the required details in the online application form and submit it before Jul 27th.
Remember to take a print of the system generated form to produce at the time of interview.
