What are the next IBPS bank exams in 2016 & when will they be conducted is one common question that arises regularly.To solve this, IBPS Bank Exams Calendar 2016 - 17 was released.With the introduction of IBPS common recruitment procedure, a candidate just has to appear for a written exam & interview only once, making him eligible for jobs in any of the 20 public sector banks across India.

I heard that IBPS will stop conducting bank exams hereafter.Is it true?
No.Its completely false.
It is true that public sector banks are under severe stress due to rising NPAs.It was due of this reason, IOB did not recruit last year as RBI imposed PCA action on them to clean their accounts.
But other banks will continue to recruit freshers for entry level jobs.For that to happen, IBPS bank exams needs to happen as planned.
Because of the mounting losses, the number of vacancies only may get reduced.
How did this false information started to spread?
After seeing our news on IOB, other websites immediately jumped to conclusions & started posting that IBPS wont recruit hereafter.
It was just to create panic among bank job aspirants as there are NO confirmed reports given by IBPS or any other bank or newspapers to substantiate their claim.
Their articles are completely FALSE & also misleading.
IBPS Bank Exams in 2016 - 17A large number of young graduates are looking at bank jobs as a career option but they are faced with many doubts such as:

The official notifications for the above examinations will be released 45 days before the mentioned dates.
For example, the IBPS PO-VI exam online registrations could open during the month of August 2016.
No Interviews for Clerk Jobs
Government of India had advised all public sector banks to stop interviews for clerk posts to bring transparency in the selection process.

Banks may also conduct psychometric tests as a replacement for interviews.
While interviews for clerical posts & office assistant (in RRB) are scrapped, there is no change in the PO recruitment process.
Since the IBPS clerk notifications are to be released only in September 2016, we will get more information on what the banks intend are planning to do this time.

It’s Exam Time from October!
Looking at the table, one can easily attribute the later half of 2016 completely to bank exams.
The common written examination for Officers (scale I,II & III) & Office Assistants in Regional Rural Banks (CWE RRB-IV) is NOT yet announced.If it is scheduled to be held, the notification could be released in the coming months.
Similarly, you will have to appear for IBPS PO (CWE PO/ MT-VI) & IBPS Clerk (CWE CLERK-VI) during October, November & December 2016 respectively.
They will be followed with the IBPS SO (Specialist-VI) in January 2017.
How Many Vacancies?
IBPS normally the releases the vacancy list for PO, Clerk & Specialist officers only after publication of exam results.
So you won’t be able to get the exact no. of bank jobs in 2016-17 at this point of time. But just like previous years, public sector banks could hire in the following range:
- PO – 11000 – 13,000
- Clerk – 22,000 to 25,000
- Specialist Officer: 3000 - 4000
Last year, around 41000 bank jobs were created for IBPS exam qualifiers.
