Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) has come out with its specialist officers recruitment for the year 2016.The bank has also advertised for IT managers under this cadre.The oriental bank of commerce is one among the 20 public sector banks in India with headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana.OBC is present across many states throughout the nation through 1000+ branches.
The IBPS SO exam is conducted for specialist officer jobs in govt banks but its only for entry level positions (scale I).For senior level posts such as scale II & III, banks have started a separate recruitment process.
If you have previous work experience & wish to enter the banking sector, then applying for scale II & III posts is the best option.

OBC Specialist Officers: Who are Eligible?
To all those who ask the above question, we have explained the eligibility criteria for OBC recruitment 2016 below,
For Senior Manager (Risk Management):
- Aged between 25 - 35 yrs as on April 1, 2016
- Graduate in any stream full time regular course with aggregate 60% marks AND PG degree (full time) in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics OR
- MBA in Finance/Banking/Risk Management OR PG Diploma in Finance/ Banking/ Risk Management) OR Engineering with aggregate 60% marks OR
- Completed professional courses like CA/ICWA/CFA (USA)
A minimum experience of 3 years in public or private banks under Basel II/ III framework is necessary.
For Manager (IT):
- Age to be within 23-35 yrs, as on April 1, 2016
- BE or PG degree in Computer Science/ IT/ Computer Applications/ ECE OR MCA
2 year experience of working in a bank/ NBFC/ financial institution is required.
For Manager (Chartered Accountant):
- Between 23-35 yrs, as on April 1, 2016
- Should have passed the CA final examination
No experience required if CA exam was passed in 1st attempt. Those who took more than 1 attempt to pass CA exam must have 1 year experience in financial sector.
For Manager (Security):
- 23 to 35 years of age
- Must posses a degree from any recognized university
- 5 yrs officer experience in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force OR Paramiltary forces.
For Security Officer:
- Aged within 21 – 35 years, as on 1.04.2016
- Completed any degree in any discipline
Must have been an officer with 3 yrs commissioned service in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force OR Paramilitary forces
Candidates who have not appeared for IBPS bank exams are also eligible to apply.
Computer knowledge proficiency: All applicants expect Manager (IT) should have certificate/ diploma or degree in computer operations/ language OR must have studied computer science/ IT as one of the subject in high school or college.
Depending on the number of applicants, there may be a written test else the selection process will consist of
- Group Discussion – 50 marks
- Personal Interview – 100 marks
A written test would be held only if large number of applications are received. In such a case the online exam will be in the following pattern

How to Apply:
An online application form is available on obcindia.co.in that should be submitted by eligible candidates before May 13, 2016.
Rs.500 (Gen/OBC) or Rs.50 (others) should be paid as application fee through online mode.Make sure to print the e-receipt after successfully transaction.
Remember to collect the counterfoil of payment, be it the OBC receipt or NEFT challan.
An email or SMS containing your registration number & password could be sent BUT we advise all candidates to take a print of the submitted application form for future reference.
