A career in defence services is one of the biggest dream for many indian youth.The UPSC NDA notification 2017 was released recently by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which is the organization incharge of holding selection processes for these branches of Indian armed forces.
Candidates who qualify successfully in this examination are enrolled for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for their 140th course & for the 102nd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd January 2018.
The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the starting point for cadets to wish to serve in the Army, the Navy & the Air Force.

Based on the results of NDA 2017 exams, a total of 390 openings are to be filled:
National Defence Academy: 335 (Army – 208, Navy – 55, Air Force – 72)
Naval Academy: 55

Who are Eligible?
If you are willing to apply for UPSC NDA (II) 2017 exam, it is necessary to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
Age Limit: Only unmarried male candidates born between 02nd January 1999 & 1st January 2002 are eligible.
Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Pass in std.XII (12th) of 10+2 pattern
(ii) For Air Force & Naval Wings of National Defence Academy: Pass in std.XII (12th) of 10+2 pattern with Physics & Mathematics.
Those appearing for 12th class exam are also eligible to apply for this NDA exam.
Selection Process
There is a 2-stage selection procedure & only those candidates who pass in stage 1
will qualify for stage 2 & remaining tests.
The written test shall consist of two papers – Mathematics & General Ability Test for a total of 900 marks.

The online application needs to be submitted only through the website upsconline.nic.in
Applicants must pay Rs.100 either by depositing it at any branch of SBI by cash OR by using net banking facility of SBI OR SBI associates banks OR by using Visa/MasterCard Credit/ Debit Card on or before Feb 10, 2017
Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Sons of JCOs/ NCOs/ ORs are exempted from payment of fees.
