NIACL Eligibility Doubts
Q: What is the maximum & minimum age limit for applicants?
A: Age must be between 18 – 30 yrs, as on 30.06.2016 (max age relaxed by 5 yrs for SC/ST, 3 yrs for OBC, 10 yrs for PWD etc.,)
Candidates born within 1st July 1986 to 30th June 1998 are only eligible to apply.
I am a divorced women.Is there any relaxation in age for candidates like me?
A: Widows, Divorced women & Women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried have 5 years relaxation on the maximum age.
It means, those upto 35 yrs of age are eligible to apply.
Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree?
Not required. Pass in any degree is enough to apply for these assistants recruitment in New India Assurance.
I am in final semester of college.Am I eligible?
Final year/ semester students are not eligible.
Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the degree examination as on 30.06.2016.
I am from Delhi & want to work in Karnataka.But dont know its local language
To apply for vacancies in Karnataka state, you must know to read, write & speak their local language ie.Kannada.
A language test will be conducted before final selection & candidates who are not proficient would be disqualified.
Hence do not apply for vacancies in a state without knowing its regional language.
Can I apply for 1 state & choose a test centre in another state?
No.You need to appear for the written exam from a centre located in the state you are applying.
The online application also does not permit any applicant to two different states.
I will complete degree in May 2017 only.Shall I apply?
You cannot apply.Only those who had completed their degrees as on June 30, 2016 are eligible to apply for NIACL assistants recruitment.
On Selection Process
Do I require IBPS exam scores?
No.IBPS scores are not needed for NIACL recruitment 2017.
New India Assurance will conduct a seperate online exam – prelims & mains, based on which candidates would be shortlisted for final selections.
Is Regional Language Test compulsory?
Candidates qualifying in the main exam are shortlisted & called for a language test, where they may be asked to speak or write a pass in the local language of that particular state.
The regional language test of NIACL assistants recruitment is only for qualifying purpose & no separate marks will be awarded.See the list of regional languages of all states advertised in NIACL.
Is there cutoff marks on individual sections?
Yes.Candidates need to qualify in each test paper, by securing the necessary cutoffs.
While the preliminary exam is for 100 marks, main examination is conducted for 250 marks.
Are there any negative marks?
Yes.For every wrong answer (prelims & mains), 0.25 is reduced as negative mark.
No marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.

NIACL Salary & Bond
What is the salary of NIACL assistant employee?
The scale of pay is Rs.14,435 – 40,080.At the initial level, the total salary would be approximately Rs.23,000 / month (gross).The take home salary could be slightly lower
Since the vacancies are declared state-wise, the salary could also vary slightly depending on your place of posting.
Should I sign any bond?
Yes, there are certain service conditions set by new india assurance company that needs to be followed.
The newly appointed employees will be on probation for 6 months.
Candidates resigning from the company before the end of this probationary period must pay the salary received by them during their entire service in the company in addition to an amount of Rs.25,000 towards partial cost of training.
Can I get transfers to my desired state after joining?
As per company policy, you cannot expect transfers from the initial place of posting before 3 years.
Even after that, NIACL may transfer you anywhere in India.
I have completed applying & paid fees too.What next?
A: On successful submission, take a print of the payment e-receipt & system generated application form.Both these are required at the time of interview.
I cannot upload my photo/ signature.What to do?
Open the online application link in Chrome or Internet explorer & make sure to disable pop-blocker.
Your details wont be saved unless the photo & sign images are uploaded successfully.
- The size of your photo should be 20 – 50kb
- The size of signature file should be 10 – 20kb
After filling in details, click ‘Save data’.Once the ‘Upload images’ button gets activated, click on it to open a pop-up window for uploading images.
Can I pay the application fees through offline?
Not possible.There is no option to pay fees at any banks.You must pay it only through the online payment facilities such as debit/credit card, internet banking etc.,
