Question 1: Do I need IBPS exam scores for this assistants recruitment?

Answer: No.RBI conducts a separate examination as part of their selection process.So IBPS bank exam scores are not necessary.

Q 2: What is the age limit for applicants? Are there any relaxations?

A: Candidates should be between 21 – 30 years of age, as on May 1, 2017.

  • For OBC category, the maximum age is 31 yrs &
  • For SC/ ST: 33 years

Persons with Disabilities (PWD) get an extension on maximum age by 10 yrs (GEN), 13 years (OBC) & 15 years (SC/ST)

Q 3: Do I need experience to apply for this RBI grade B officers recruitment?

A: Not required.Freshers are also eligible to apply for officer jobs in reserve bank of India.

Q 4: I have 50% in degree and 60% in std.12 and 10th.Am I eligible for RBI grade b officers recruitment 2017?

A: No.It is compulsory for applicants of general and OBC category must have 60% in UG degree, std. 12 and std.10.

For applicants from SC/ST/PWD category, 50% in degree, 10th and 12th is enough.

Q 5: I am currently doing my final semester/ I am waiting for final yr results. Can I apply?

A: Final year/ semester students are NOT eligible.Only those who have completed their degree as on May 1, 2017 are eligible to apply.

Q 6: Should I know to read, write and speak the local language of the state?

A: There are no state-wise vacancies in RBI grade B officers recruitment.So it is not necessary for candidates to posses knowledge of the regional language.

Q 7: What will be the job location? Where will I get posted on appointment?

A: Reserve Bank of India offices are located at major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi etc.,Hence you would be appointed to any of these branches only.

Q 8: What is the salary for RBI Grade B Officers? Was it increased recently like other banks?

As per the notification, the salary for RBI grade B officers is approx Rs.67,993/ month which includes allowances such as transport, house rent etc.,

Therefore, the monthly take home salary could range between Rs.42-47,000/ month (may vary based on place of posting)

Since Reserve Bank of India follows a different pay structure compared to other banks, any salary increase for bank employees will not impact this organization.

Q 9: I have previously applied for RBI grade B officers recruitment.Can I apply again?

A: Candidates belonging to unreserved or general category who have already appeared 6 times for phase I examination, are not eligible to apply.

There are no such restrictions for applicants of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD categories.

Q 10: Are BE/ Btech/MBA/ MCA/ B.Sc graduates eligible?

A: Yes, all those who have completed a bachelor`s degree (any degree) are eligible for officer (grade B) jobs in RBI.

Therefore, graduates with BSc/ MSc/ BE/ BTech/ MBA/ MCA/ BCom/ MCom etc., degree are absolutely eligible to apply, provided they have scored 60% in UG and std.10 and 12th.
