Applying for SBI Recruitments? You Must Provide Aadhaar Card Number

SBI-LogoIf you are looking to apply for SBI recruitments in future, aadhaar card number should be provided at the time of registrations.State Bank of India, the largest public sector bank of India that receives lakhs of job applications in its latest notification has announced a scheme for verifying the identity of candidates applying for all its recruitment processes through Aadhaar cards.

SBI jobs are the most popular among fresh graduates as it offers a stable career and better pay that are commonly associated with the government sector.

It is the reason why 15 – 20 lakh candidates apply for few thousand vacancies of SBI officer (PO) and clerk recruitments.After the SBI associate banks merger, the number of vacancies may also increase.

Aadhaar number for SBI Recruitments made compulsory

State Bank of India has decided to introduce a system of verifying the identities of candidates applying for all its recruitments, through their Aadhaar cards.

“Ascertaining the identities of candidates is critical for fair conduct of recruitment process and prevention of impersonation”, says SBI in its latest notification.

Starting from July 1, 2017, candidates who apply for SBI recruitments should submit their 12 digit Aadhaar number (or 28 digit Aadhaar enrolment ID in case the aadhaar is not received) at the time of registration itself.

Those who don’t posses aadhaar numbers will not be allowed to register, hereafter.

SBI will make use of an individual`s aadhaar number to match the biometric information taken at the time of the examination/ interview/ medical fitness test/ reporting for joining with that stored on the Aadhaar server to establish the identity of the candidate.

Which state does not require aadhaar? Candidates from the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam are not required to provide aadhaar for SBI recruitments.

Applicants from these states can use voter ID, passport, driving license or any other valid document, as proof of identity for future recruitments in SBI.

State Bank of India, by this recent move, is looking to eliminate the possibility of impersonation or any other form of malpractices that are commonly seen in competition exams in India.

If you don’t have aadhaar card, then it is time for you to apply and get it as soon as possible.There is a high chance for IBPS to prescribe the same condition for upcoming IBPS bank exams as well.
