SBI PO recruitment last date to apply,SBI PO online payment problems,SBI PO 2016 recruitmentIf you are aspiring to join State bank of India as an officer, then this is your best chance. The registrations to apply online for SBI PO recruitment is closing on May 24, 2016.As state bank of India is the largest public sector bank in India, there was last minute rush to make fee payment & submit applications for their 2200 PO vacancies. So we tell you on how to solve SBI PO online payment problems & send your application forms without issues.

The SBI PO recruitment 2016 notification was announced for the appointment of probationary officers (PO) in State Bank of India.

Since these are officer cadre jobs, there are no state-wise vacancies & candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

SBI PO Dates Changed due to Huge Response

It is a known fact that many were eagerly waiting for SBI PO recruitment to be released & most of you would have applied already.

Latest Update: SBI has officially announced that the last date to make online fee payment has been extended till 11:59 PM on May 27th.

It means, candidates have got 3 more days to complete paying their fees BUT they have to submit their registration forms before 11:59 PM on May 24.

  • Last date to submit application form – May 24
  • Last date for doing online fee payment – May 27

How to solve Registration & Fee Problems?

The biggest disadvantage of applying on last date is – you will face numerous problems before submitting your application successfully.

Candidates had started complaining about two issues from May 21st itself, which we thought of highlighting. They are:

1) SBI PO online payment failure: This is a problem faced by candidates for past few weeks as they are unable to make payment for SBI PO.

Right after authorizing the online payment, a blank screen comes up or the following message: “https://www.sbiepay.com/secure/AggMerchantStatusQueryAction” is displayed.

In such a situation, here is what you should do.

  • Login to the application form & check the status of your previous payment.
  • If you see anything else apart from “success” in the fee status, you need to make payment again.

SBI says, “The amount debited for failed transaction will be refunded back to your account within 3 – 7 working days.”Therefore, there is no need to worry.

Incase your fee payment does not go through, open a different browser & try again.

1) Slow website/ frequent disconnections: SBI had warned applicants in advance that they are expecting heavy load on their website as the last date approaches.

Here are ways to avoid these issues:

  • Access the webpage from high speed internet centres or computers.
  • Do not use your mobile phones or tablets.
  • Complete the registration before 9 AM.

As time passes, more number of people would start visiting the website making it even harder.

If you still cannot submit during day time, attempt to register after 10 PM But remember, the links will get deactivated after 12 midnight.

How to Write Correct Letters for SBI PO & UIIC AO Descriptive Tests?

letter-writing-descriptive-testDescriptive English test is now a part of bank exams & insurance exams that are conducted for officer cadre positions. It comprises of questions related to letter writing & essay writing. The main purpose of this test is to check the proficiency of written english among candidates. Here you will learn about the format for letter writing & how to prepare/ write a correct letter that will help you to crack the descriptive test.

In SBI PO & UIIC AO exams, descriptive test is just a qualifying test – which means, candidates should only score the necessary cutoffs in this paper to qualify for interviews.

Letter Writing Basics

There are two types of letters which are commonly asked in these exams. They are:

  • Informal letters (written to friends, relatives, parents, siblings (brother/ sister)
  • Formal letters (written to bank manager, news editor, government dept/ officials etc.)

Descriptive test will have both formal & informal letter questions & you can choose any one for answering.

But it is advisable to know both the formats as both follow the same structure with minor changes only.

What is the correct format of letters?

Be it a formal or informal letter, it should contain all of the following parts:

  • Address
  • Body
  • Conclusion

An example letter written by a person to a state government official in bangalore about building violations, is given below that will help you understand these parts better.

Descriptive-test-letter-writing-format

This being the general format, now let us see how to write a proper letter covering the above 3 parts.

Addresses: Every letter should have the from & to addresses mentioned at the top.It is the basic item & must not be forgotten at any cost.

  • Under the field ‘From’, mention your name & address.
  • Inside the field ‘To’, you need to specify the name & address of the person or organization to whom this letter is sent.

In the above example, the letter is written to bangalore`s BBMP & hence the relevant officer name/ post along with his address is given.

If you are sending a letter to a newspaper editor, the ‘To’ area should be like this:

To,

The Editor,

The Hindu,

Kerala

Body of Letter This is the main part of a letter & should contain your answer for the given question.

  • Incase of informal letters, you can start with ‘Dear _____’
  • Formal letters should begin with ‘Sir’ or ‘Madam’.It is advisable not to use the word ‘dear’.

The next line in formal letters must be for ‘Subject’ where you need to mention the purpose of this letter in one sentence.

In the sample letter above, Mr.Nagaraj wants to complain about the owner. So he has written ‘Sub: Violation of building bye law’.

Similarly, candidates can pickup the subject line from the question itself.

For example, if the question is – ’Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper informing about the rise in ragging issues’, your subject can be “Sub: Rise in ragging issues

After this, the main content should follow detailing the real purpose of writing that letter.

Conclusion: It can also be termed as the closing remarks, which are necessary at the end of your letter.

Here are certain words that you may use:

  • Informal letters: Yours lovingly, Yours affectionately
  • Formal letter: Yours sincerely/ Yours truly / Yours faithfully

Writing your name below any of the above words will mark the end of your letter.

By following these 3 parts, candidates can easily write attend letter writing question & secure the minimum cutoff marks in SBI PO exam descriptive test & UIIC AO descriptive test.

NABARD Bank Exam 2016 Review, Analysis & Expected Cutoffs

The NABARD bank exam for recruitment of assistant managers (grade A) & managers (grade B) was conducted on May 15, 2016.Since nabard does not get involved in commercial banking like other public sector banks & purely dedicated for agriculture & rural developement, many candidates had applied for a total of 115 vacancies. So here is the NABARD exam review & expected cutoffs.

The NABARD grade A & B exam pattern consists of two phases just like the regular IBPS bank exams. The 1st phase is preliminary examination (prelims) for 200 marks.

Only those who score the necessary sectional & total cutoffs will be shortlisted for phase II (main exam).Going by that rule, candidates with 110+ attempts out of 200 can be considered as safe.

    NABARD Exam Paper Review

With 7 papers & 200 questions to answer in 2 hours, how did the candidates perform? Here is the exam review.

    NABARD-Exam-Questions-Review

Quantitative Aptitude was considered to be the toughest among all the sections. Many candidates were stuck here trying to answer some very high level questions.

Of the 30 questions in QA, most were able to solve only between 10- 15.

Reasoning was another section that spoilt the party for many candidates.Though not tough like QA, questions were above normal level that had to be answered after some calculations only.

English, Computer Knowledge & General Awareness were quite easy with only few questions turning out to be tricky.Maybe these sections being a part of all banking exams proved to be a known feild for many.

Economic & Social Issues and Agri & Rural development sections were most feared. But candidates found it too easy as many had attempted 35+ in both.

Overall Review:The overall view of this NABARD exam is moderate except for reasoning & quants.Because of these two papers, candidates were left with only little time to answer all other sections.

This has also affected the chances of few people who couldnt attend questions even though knowing the answers, due to lack of time.

There is negative mark for wrong answers. So it would also play an important role in lowering the scores further.

    Expected Cutoffs:

We had already published the NABARD previous year cutoffs but this year`s pattern is different compared to last year.

Due to moderate performances of candidates in few papers & less number of vacancies, the sectional cutoffs could be slightly less or similar to last year.

The expected cutoff range for NABARD prelims are (all categories)

    • English: 10 - 15
    • Reasoning: 12 - 15
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 7 - 10
    • General Awareness: 6 - 8
    • Computer Knowledge: 9 - 13
    • Agriculture and Rural Development: 13 - 17
    • Economic and Social Issues: 12 - 15

What could be the total cutoffs?

The exams were conducted in 3 shifts & difficulty level was different in each slot. While 1st  candidates felt the paper was easy, the toughness increased for reamining shifts.

So normalisation of scores will be done to arrive at an average score & for this, accuracy is important. So we are providing here the safe number of correct answers:

    • General: 120+
    • OBC/ SC/ST: 90+

If you had answered the above number of questions correctly, you can be hopeful of qualifying for the main exams.

Hence the role of an administrative office in the insurance company will change as per the requirements of the department.

    UIIC AO Salary

Most of you were wanting to know about the details of UIIC AO salary especially after reading the notification which mentions Rs.48,000 /month in metropolitan cities.

After deductions towards PF, tax etc., your take home salary shall be Rs.40,000 – 42,000 /month depending on the place of posting.

In addition to the monthly pay, AOs are eligible for various other benefits like accommodation, gratuity, LTS, medical benefits, pension etc.,

    Work Time & Job Location

While POs in banks may have to meet customers/ visitors regularly, AO has very less customer interaction. Most of the communication is with agents & office staff only.

Therefore, the normal office timings are from 10 AM to 5.30 - 6 PM on weekdays. This shouldn't be a problem considering you get holidays on all Saturdays & Sundays!

Since AO job is completely confined within the office & doesn't involve marketing products or training agents, there isn't lot of pressure.

Wait.Don't get carried away thinking about less work.

    • The branch or office you get posted & even your senior manager determine the amount of work load.
    • If you are posted to an office with lot of business happening, even the regular administrative works shall be higher.

Postings in West & South India?

Job posting location is yet another question that many candidates have in mind.AO being an office cadre job, you could be posted anywhere in India. So applicants should be ready to relocate.

UIIC has also mentioned that large number of vacancies are in the western & southern India. So you will be mostly posted in any of their offices located in these regions only.

It would take minimum of 3 – 4 years before you can request for transfer to home location. But there is no guarantee of your request to be accepted because of seniority & quota issues.

About Probation & One Exam You Must Pass

The probation period for UIIC AO is for a period of 1 year that may be extended by another 6 months. This is like a training phase for new candidates & may be required to
    undergo theoretical / practical training.

Bond Period: At the time of joining, candidates would need to submit an undertaking to serve UIIC for minimum 4 years (includes 1 yr probation).

If a person chooses to quit/ resign from the company within 4 years, they should repay the entire salary amount received so far + Rs.25,000 towards cost of training.

An Exam You Need to Pass: During the probation period, AO`s are required to pass the non-life “Licentiate Examination” conducted by Insurance Institute of India.Only those who pass this exam will be eligible for confirmed employee status.

If you fail to qualify in this exam within the probationary period, company has the right to terminate you!
