IBPS PO 2012 - Full List of Bank Cutoffs

Bank jobs especially in public sector were a favored career option for long.But in recent years both the need & interest has risen manifold.Young graduates with memories of IT slowdown still fresh in their minds are preferring job security over high paying jobs.

On the other hand, increase in number of retirements every year, entry of private players, opening new branches etc., are pushing public sector banks to recruit aggressively.

IBPS Common Exams:

Institute of banking personnel selection (IBPS) was authorized to conduct common written exam for bank jobs in India & issue scorecards to qualified people.
For the qualifiers of 1st IBPS PO CWE held in September 2011 - banks are notifying recruitments to fill probationary officer positions across their branches.

  • 19 Indian public sector banks (PSB) will make use of CWE platform to pick candidates for probationary officer posts.
  • All 19 PSB`s have announced vacancies
  • Andhra bank had called only OBC candidates to apply for 89 positions of same category

Total of 18947 PO jobs in Indian banks have been notified till june 2012

Selection Cutoffs:

To call eligible candidates for interview process, banks will fix an appropriate cutoff based on the no. of vacancies & applications received.

These cutoffs are not calculated separately but are your TWS scores printed on the scorecards issued by IBPS.
  • For general category, interview calls were mostly secured by those above the score of 166.Four banks had fixed it above 170.
  • OBC applicants with TWS of 160+ had many chances, while few banks specified 156+ too
  • SC, ST: Mostly it was over 150 & 137 respectively.

The cutoffs to remain in the same range for upcoming bank jobs is impossible as many factors go into determining them.

It may be go high if there`s an increase in the no. of IBPS common exam passed candidates exceed previous figures in the coming years.
