Usually, the IBPS SO exam is conducted for specialist officer jobs in govt banks but its only for entry level positions (scale I).For senior level posts such as scale II & III, banks issue a separate recruitment notification inviting applications from suitable candidates.
If you have previous work experience & wish to enter the banking sector, then applying for scale II & III posts is the best option.

For Assistant Manager (Financial Analyst):
No experience required for scale I posts.But the degrees must be from full-time (regular) college.
Candidates who had applied for Assistant Manager (FA) position should appear for an online test & based on the performance in it, they will be shortlisted for personal interviews. Here is the pattern of selection for scale I positions:
For scale II & III positions, applicants need to appear only for personal interview only that will carry a total of 100 marks.
Incase there are large number of applications received for scale II & III cadre, a written test shall be held.
The candidates selected in Scale II/ III & Scale – I will be on probation for a period of 12 months (1 year) and 24 months (2 years) respectively from the date of his/her joining the bank.
The online registration form is available on www.obcindia.co.in which must be submitted by eligible candidates before April 26, 2017.
Rs.600 (Gen/ OBC) or Rs.100 (others) needs to be paid as application fee through online mode.Remember to take a print of the e-receipt & system generated application form after successfully submission.
Remember to collect the counterfoil of payment, be it the OBC receipt or NEFT challan.
An email or SMS containing your registration number & password will be sent on successful registration which needs to preserved for future reference.
