Few days back, the SBI PO prelims were conducted and it was called an easy paper.As per the reviews shared by candidates, the SBI PO prelims expected cutoffs could be in the range of 47 – 49, we feel.
It is compulsory to score the necessary cutoffs in the preliminary exam inorder to qualify for the main examination.
So let’s look at SBI`s previous PO recruitment exams to gather info on the cutoff marks required to pass in the main exams.

State Bank of India conducts recruitment for PO vacancies every year & here is the compilation of previous year cutoffs of main exam held in 2014, 2015 & 2016.
From the above image, here are some important points to note:
– There are cutoffs for each section & on the total marks of objective test
– Descriptive test cutoffs were 20 out of 50 marks (17.5 for OBC, SC, ST)
Main Exam Total Cutoffs: To become eligible for Group discussion & personal interview, your main exam total marks (objective + descriptive paper) should be above a certain cutoff.

Final Cutoffs: After completing all these stages, the final cutoffs are arrived in the following manner:
The final merit list for each category is then prepared for a total of 100 marks, based on which final appointment of candidates are made.
After looking at the previous SBI PO cutoffs, don’t expect the same this year as well because there are certain important points that you must keep in mind.
– There is a time limit for each section, within which you need to complete answering that specific section.
– Reasoning and Data Interpretation sections carry higher marks (60 marks each)
– General Awareness section shall include questions from economy & banking awareness.
Hence you can expect the SBI PO 2017 cutoffs to vary slightly based on the performance of candidates.

Dear admin bei,written exam for the above mentioned recruitment was held on 24/07/2011 & not on 21/07/2011, generally bank exams take place on sundays and 21 was a thursday,rest of the info supplied is correct.good job bei.

Unlike ibps, sbi has only 4 sections? Also, how much time will be alloted for both objective and descriptive paper?
