LIC AAO: Were Previous Year Exams Difficult? [Read Review]

The LIC AAO Exam to be held on March 5, 6 & 13, 2016 is one of the most awaited event this year & competition shall be very high.There are only 700 AAO vacancies but atleast 12-15 lakh candidates may be appearing for the online test.No matter how good you prepare, there is always a feeling of fear about the upcoming exams.To help candidates overcome it, here is a detailed review of previous year LIC AAO exam papers held in the year 2015 & 2013.

Previous LIC AAO – Easy or Moderate or Difficult?

According to a vast majority of participants who took LIC AAO exams last year, the difficulty level was between Easy to Moderate only.

Many candidates had said that they were able to attempt above 100 questions of the total 160.See LIC AAO previous year cutoffs to know how much were they true.

The following detail reveiw will help you get an idea of what to expect in LIC AAO 2016 exams.

Reasoning ability:

Questions in this section were Moderate to Difficult.Topic wise difficulty level is given below:

  • Syllogism, Coding Decoding, Inequalities: Easy
  • Input output, Seating arrangement, Blood relation : Moderate
  • Statement Assumption, Puzzles & Cause-effect: Difficult & Confusing

You can expect the problems to be of PO exam level & average number of attempts was 25.

Quantitative aptitude:

All those who were good in numbers & remembeed the shortcuts & formula found it easy to complete this part on time.However, this section can be termed overall as moderate.

  • Approximation
  • Data Interpretation
  • Arithmetic/ Word problem
  • Series
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Probability, Permutations etc.

As usual, quants were time consuming.Its better to attend only those questions that you are very sure about answering.

General Awareness:

Unlike bank exams, where banking awareness questions would be given – the title of this section is ‘General Knowledge, Current affairs test’.

So there were many questions from current affairs & few sessions even had budget related questions (exam was held in march)

For all those who were following the daily events & current affairs, this section was easy to moderate.

Computer Knowledge:

It was the easiest among all the other sections in the test.There were only expected questions which most could answer correctly.

Candidates easily attempted 25 out of 30 questions.

English Language:

In LIC AAO exam, English language is only for qualifying purpose & marks wont be taken for final ranking. But you need to qualify & score the necessary cutoffs.

English section has been easy to moderate type only in previous year tests.Cloze test, Comprehension passage, Jumble Sentence, Error spotting, Fill in the blanks, Idioms & Phrases were asked.

What To Expect in LIC AAO 2016?

After reading through the the last year AAO exam review, you will have an idea on the difficulty level of test papers.Here are our tips that you can follow for LIC AAO 2016 exams:

  • Decide the order of sections that you are going to answer & stick to it.
  • Dont spend too much time on English section.It is only for qualifying.
  • Time management is necessary.Plan it while preparing itself.
  • Quantitative aptitude may need eat your time.Be careful.

In a highly competitive exam like LIC AAO, qualifying alone is not enough.You need to secure really high scores inorder to get shortlisted for Interviews.
