Court Refuses to Cancel SBI Clerk Recruitment BUT Final Judgement Will Impact Results!

Finally, there is some good news for those who were anxiously waiting to know the fate of SBI clerk recruitment 2016, after a PIL case was filed against State bank of India. The court while reserving the judgement to another date has allowed SBI to continue with the selection procedure for now.But the judges warned of their final order to impact the final results of this recruitment.

One of the eligibility condition specified in the SBI clerk recruitment for 17000 junior associates & junior agricultural associates had barred educational loan defaulters from applying for these posts.

Numerous candidates who had taken loans to complete their degree but couldnt repay it due to various reasons, became ineligible automatically due to this new rule.

Case Filed & Court`s Latest Order

In May, the Madras High Court bench had issued notices to the centre & the chairman of State Bank of India on a PIL filed by an aspirant.

He sought the court`s help to direct SBI cancel the clerical recruitment & publish a new notification so that all candidates become eligible to apply.

The case heard by division bench comprising of Justices Nooty Ramamohana Rao & S S Sundar in their interim order, said that the SBI could proceed with the recruitment process.

The also pointed that as several candidates have already applied for the notified posts all of them would be affected, if the process was stopped at this stage.

Final Judgement will Impact Results, say Judges

Although the justices had allowed SBI to continue with the process, they have NOT yet pronounced the final verdict on this PIL.

They also hinted about the things to come in future by saying their final judgement, would have an impact on the results of the entire recruitment process.

This throws up another suprise.Since the court has kept the case open, the hopes of individuals who couldnt apply for this clerk recruitment still remains open.

What Happens Next?

With the green singal from court, State bank of India can go ahead & release the results of their preliminary examination held in May/ June 2016.

Shortlisted candidates can appear for the main exams as planned earlier & results may be published for it too, we believe.

Since the judges have held back their judgement, it is not clear on when they will intervene & what order they are going to pass.We need to wait & watch till then.

But one thing is confirmed: The current ongoing SBI clerk recruitment 2016 is not cancelled. So candidates need not fear of their hardwork getting wasted.

At the same time, dont expect the recruitment to complete soon as the matter is in court & they are yet to deliver a judgement that could delay the final results.
