National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) has issued a new notification for recruitment of Development Assistants.Formed in the year 1982, NABARD aims to promote sustainable agriculture & rural prosperity by providing the necessary credit, institutional & innovative support.
NABARD is not like other public sector banks where customers visit to deposit & withdraw cash.
NABARD is similar to RBI & hence wont deal with general customers but will focus on up-liftment of agriculture related activities by providing support to governments.

Development Assistant (DA) – 85 openings (across various states)
While the pay is under revision, development assistants salary is approx. Rs.24,948/ month that includes allowances & benefits.
The development assistant job profile is similar to clerical cadre but doesn’t involve cash handling work.They may have to assist the officers & perform certain duties expected of them when posted in specific departments.

Am I Eligible?
Inorder to apply for NABARD development assistant recruitment 2016, candidates must posses the following eligibility conditions:
- Age limit: 18 – 35 years, as on 31.07.2016 (OBC: +3yrs & SC/ST: +5yrs)
- Degree in any discipline with 50% marks aggregate, as on July 31, 2016 (pass in graduation is enough for SC/ST/PWD)
- Must know to read, write & speak the local language of the state you are applying
- English proficiency is also essential
- Knowledge of computer operations is required too
Assistant (Hindi): Must have completed graduation with 50% marks aggregate & studied Hindi & English as subjects at degree level.
IBPS exam scores are not needed.So applicants who have not appeared for it are also eligible.
Exams & Selection
The selection process of development assistant in NABARD involves two phases – Preliminary & Main Exam – both are held online.
The exam pattern of prelims & mains is slightly different for Hindi assistants with test of professional knowledge.
Candidates are to qualify in each section of the objective test separately & there will be negative marks for every wrong answer (0.25 shall be reduced)
No Interviews: The final selection would be purely based on merit taking into account your performance in main exam alone.There are no interviews for development assistant position.
Registrations
The application fee for SC/ST/PWD candidates is Rs.50 & for others, it is Rs.450.
- Candidates can apply for anyone state only.
- You should pay the above said fees only via online mode after entering the details in the application form.
