No.You are not eligible to apply for that specific state.

Lets say, you are working in Bangalore & know to speak kannada.But you cannot apply for that state because, to get clerk post in Karnataka state, you should be able to read, write & speak kannada language.

Those of you who only know to speak or read but cannot write – are not eligible to apply for that particular state.

Which states have Hindi as its regional language?

I did not study the regional language in school? Can I still apply?

Yes, you can still apply. At the time of appointment, banks may conduct a language proficiency test to test the candidate`s ability.

Can I get transfer to my home state later after joining in another state?

While some banks don’t allow clerk transfers from one state to other, some banks do permit them. So it entirely depends on the transfer policy of each bank.So we cannot guarantee any transfers between states. Whichever location you get posted initially, be ready to work within that state for the first few years.
