Q 1: What is the minimum educational qualifications for SSC MTS 2017 exam?

A: You should have passed matriculation examination (std. 10th class) inorder to become eligible for this multi tasking staff.

Note: This is just a minimum qualification & candidates who have completed degree (UG or PG) are also allowed to apply.

Q 2: What is the age limit for applicants? Are there any relaxations?

A: Candidates should be between 18 – 25 years of age, as on August 1, 2017.

  • OBC category, the maximum age is 28yrs &
  • SC/ ST: 30 years

Persons with Disabilities (PWD) get an extension on maximum age by 10 yrs (GEN), 13 years (OBC) & 15 years (SC/ST)

Note: The date of birth should be exactly same as recorded in your matriculation/ secondary examination.If there is any mismatch, it will not be accepted by SSC.

Q 3: I am a widow/ divorced woman.Is there any special concession in age?

A: Women who are widows or divorced & have not re-married can apply for this multi tasking staff exam upto the age of 35 years (general), 38 yrs (OBC) & 40 yrs (SC/ST)

Q 4: I have only 40% in degree.Am I eligible for SSC MTS 2017 recruitment?

A: Yes, you have completed degree after school matriculation exam.So you are eligible to apply & there is no minimum percent required in degree (pass is enough).

For applicants from SC/ST/PWD category, pass in degree is enough.No percentage condition exists for them.

Q 5: I am currently doing my final semester/ I am waiting for final yr results. Can I apply?

A: Yes, you can apply if you had completed/ passed std.10th exams.

Q 6: Should i know the local language of the state that i am applying for?

A: Not required.

Q 7: There are less/ no vacancies in my state.Can I apply for any other state?

A: Yes, you can apply for vacancies in any state.But make sure to input your order of state preferences in the online application form.

Q 8: How many vacancies are available & how many states can i apply?

A total of 8300 posts are available to qualifiers of SSC MTS 2017 exams.

Since the vacancies are segregated as per 9 zones, you are allowed to apply for all states but must give specify the order of preference.

Q 9: Can I apply for one state & appear for exam in another state?

A: Yes, you can choose any exam center you wish even though your preferences of states are different.

Q 10: Are BE/ Btech/MBA/ MCA/ B.Sc graduates eligible?

A: Yes, any degree holder is eligible to apply for MTS job because the minimum qualification is pass in std.Xth.

Therefore, graduates with BSc/ MSc/ BE/ BTech/ MBA/ MCA/ BCom/ MCom etc., degree are absolutely eligible to apply.
