Does NICL offer vacancies in each state?

There are no state-wise vacancies issued by National Insurance Company.A total of 205 posts are advertised that includes 31 (SC), 16 (ST), 45 (OBC) and 113 (General).

What is the agelimit for NICL AO recruitment?

Age must be within 21 – 30 years as on March 1, 2017 (date of birth between

02.03.1987 & 01.03.1996)

The relaxation of maximum age is available for the following categories:

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
  • SC/ ST: 5 yrs
  • PWD: 10 yrs
  • Persons in Kashmir Division of J & K state: 5 yrs
  • Ex-Serviceman: 5yrs
  • Defence service personnel (disabled): 3 yrs
  • Existing employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies: 8 yrs

Candidates seeking age relaxation need to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of interview.

What is the cutoff date for educational qualification?

Applicants need to have completed degree, as on 20.04.2017.

Proof of passing the graduation (mark sheet/ degree certificate) on or before April 20, 2017 is necessary.

I scored 50% in UG & 70% in PG degree.Am I eligible to apply?

Yes, you can apply for NICL AO recruitment.

Candidates who have scord 60% marks or above in either UG or PG degree are considered eligible for the vacancies.

I completed BE/ Btech/ Bsc/ Bcom with only 50%.Shall i register?

Candidates with less than 60% marks in UG are not eligible to apply.Those from OBC, SC, ST categories should need atleat 55% in graduation.

I am currently in final semester/ year of graduation.Shall I apply?

Students of UG degree final year/ sem are NOT eligible.

But PG final years may apply with their UG marks though they need to make sure the PG degree course gets completed before the interview stage.

What is the salary of an Administrative Officer in National Insurance Company Limited?

The salary of NICL AO is Rs.51,000 /month in metro cities.It includes various other allowances such as PF, gratuity, LTS, medical insurance, accomodation etc.

Therefore, the take home pay shall be around Rs.40,000 – 45,000 (depending no your posting location)

Can I choose place of posting?

Candidates chosen for appointment must be willing to get posted anywhere in India, says the notification.Posting preference might be asked at the time of interview, but there is no guarantee.

Do i need to sign any service bond?

All candidates selected for appointment will need to sign an undertaking to work in NICL for a minimum of 4 years (including probation of 1 year).

Incase of resigning from the company before the expiry of bond period, they would need to pay 1 year gross salary paid to them during probation.

Are there any transfers in this job?

There would be transfers to other NICL branches located in another city within India, as per company rules.The minimum period of stay could range from 3 to 5 years.

Is there any chance for me to get terminated during probation?

From the date of joining, all candidates are placed under probation for 1 year which may be extended by 6 months or 1 year.

During this period, AO`s need to pass the ‘non-life licentiate exam’ conducted by Insurance Institute of India.Only after passing it, they will be eligible for confirmation of job.

So there is a high chance for NICL to terminate the officer if he/she fails in the licentiate exam within the probationary period.

What is the selection process of NICL AO recruitment 2017?

The procedure consists of 3 stages:

  • Preliminary examination for 100 marks
  • Main examination for 200 marks (descriptive test for 30 marks)
  • Interview

The final merit list is prepared based on the scores obtained by candidates in main exam & interview only.
