How to Fill IBPS Clerk 2015 Bank Preferences [Detailed Guide & List]

bank clerk preference registration, how to register for clerk preference registrations

There was a time when you have to register for IBPS clerk preferences after the results were announced. But from this year onwards, candidates need to specify their choices at the time of filling the application itself. We know many bank job aspirants will be looking for detailed steps on how to choose their order of preference for clerk jobs allotment in banks.

Approximately 30,000 clerk job vacancies are filled every year in public sector banks through IBPS clerk exams (see IBPS clerk 2015 notification)

Depending on your final scores (test & interview) & preference, IBPS will automatically allot candidates to banks.

You will be allotted to a bank in your first preference, if your final total score is high & there are sufficient no. of vacancies in that particular bank.Incase the bank in your 1st preference has filled all its posts, you will be posted in a bank that is in your 2nd preference.

How to Fill IBPS Clerk Preferences?

how to register clerk preferences, ibps bank clerks allotment procedure, how to submit preference for clerk allotments

The job profile of clerk is more confined within the branch only as they are responsible for collecting & dispensing cash to customers. That is the reason why they are also called as single window operator (cashier).

Just because they are required to interact with the visitors, candidates who are applying for clerical cadre posts must know to read, write & speak the local language of that specific state.

Where will I be posted? The job location for clerks will be within a state where you to choose to appear for the online test.Hence you need not worry of getting posted in another state.

Will I be transferred to other states? The transfers would be only with your home state only & not outside of it.It is only in the case of PO, all India transfers are un avoidable.

Mostly, banks have large no. of branches in the state where its head office is located. Therefore here is a table that will help you with the banks & their head office location.

There is no head office in my state. What to do? There are some states where no head office is present.Candidates from such areas can submit their preferences based on the brand value of the bank & employee feedback.

We have prepared a preference list of banks by taking into account the reviews posted online by current & previous employees.

ibps clerk preference registration, ibps clerk 2015 preferences

I am still confused about Preferences. What shall I do? After looking at the various options available, we know there would candidates with such a mindset.

Some of you might have some dream public sector banks to work.It could have been the driving force behind your efforts to appear for common exams. Some would want to join a bank that has sound financials, good growth rate etc.

But for the post of clerk, there is no big difference that you can spot between banks as the job profile, salary, allowances etc., are almost similar across organizations.

Whichever bank you choose - clerk appointments shall happen within your state initially & would be asked to join in a local branch only.

Do you have a better idea or strategy for choosing the preferences? Voice it through the comment form below for others to also decide.
