Bank of Baroda 2000 Clerks Recruitment – Eligibility Changes!

Started in 1908, BoB is one among the top public sector banks in India.The bank has around 39000 employees working across 3700 branches across India & 80+ in foreign countries.

 

Bank of Baroda was the first PSB to announce recruitment for their vacancies through IBPS CWE platform.

 

Initially, only degree holders were called to apply but a decision was taken by banks to implement this change (clerical jobs for graduates only) in the next btach, BOB has issued a corrigendum which makes even SSLC/12th candidates to apply.

Revised: Online application available from May 28 to June 11, 2012

Original dates were from 24.03.2012 to 10.04.2012

Interview dates shall be intimated later

Eligibility:

The conditions that candidates must satisfy to apply are for Bank of Baroda clerk recruitment 2012 are,

  • Age limit : 18 - 28 yrs as on 1.08.2011 (+3yrs for OBC, +5yrs for SC/ST)
  • Revised: 60% in SSLC/10th OR 50% in HSC/12th OR pass in degree from recognized university, as of Aug 1, 2011
  • To have appeared for exam in a centre located within the state you apply for
  • Be able to read/write/speak english & local language of that state.
  • Should posses working knowledge of computers
  • State-wise & Category wise TWS are given in the BOB advt (see below) & only those with or above it are eligible.

 

Selection:

The selection procedure is similar to PO recruitments in banks.Based on the number of applications from each state, a merit list shall be prepared & only those ranking at the top shall be shortlisted for Interview in the ratio of 1:4 (Gen) & 1:5 (others)

 

Clerical cadres employees shall be paid in the payscale of Rs.7200 – 19300. There is a probationary period of 6 months (no bond)

Application:

Those who have already applied in the month of March/April need not apply again.

 

The fees of Rs.150 (Gen/OBC) or Rs.50(SC/ST) can be paid Online or at any Bank of Baroda branch by downloading the cash voucher from the website.Payments have to be made only between 28.05.2012 to 11.06.2012.

 

After submitting the online application form, candidates have to note the reg.no & password for future reference & remember to take a print of the generated application.

Who are Eligible:

As said earlier, these posts dont require CWE scorecards & are purely based on qualifications below,

  • Age to be min.21 & max. 37 yrs as on May 1, 2012
  • Experience ranging from 3 – 5 yrs is necessary
  • Educational requirements differ for each position but PG degree is a must (refer original notification below for full details)
  • Those without computer subject in UG/PG level must have certificate in computer operations

Selections:

There would be no written tests as in case of scale I vacancies & hence candidates would be directly shortlisted for Interview in the ratio of 1:4 (gen) & 1:5 for SC/ST/OBC, with preference given to experienced.

 

Interviews shall be held only in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai & Kolkata with minimum marks to qualify set at 40% (35% for reserved category)

 

All selected appointees would be on 1 year probation, but there is no necessity to sign any service bonds.

  2. The application fee of Rs.200 (Gen/OBC) or Rs.50(SC/ST) must be paid directly through website only (using debit or credit cards)
  3. Print the e-receipt after successful fund transfer
  4. Applicants must take a print of the generated document & preserve it for submission during Interview.

Am I Eligible:

So what are the eligibility conditions for BoB PO Recruitment 2012? Here they are,

  • Age criteria: to be 21 - 30 yrs (+3 for OBC, +5 for SC/ST), as on 1.07.2011
  • Should be a graduate in any degree as on July 2011
  • Computer operations knowledge is necessary but certificates are not asked for.
  • Only those qualified in IBPS PO exam with the following scores are eligible,
    • Gen/OBC: 125 in TWS & 24 in each section (Gen only); Others: 105 in TWS & 21 in each test (incl. OBC) 
  • If results/ degree cert. were declared after 1st July 2011, you are not eligible.

Procedure:

As per the common exam score, applicants shall be ranked in the higher order & will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:4 (gen cat.) & 1:5 (for other cat.).By this, around 2700 candidates can expect a call for the Interview process.

 

Final selection will be based on the CWE & interview score.Failing to score min. marks in interviews would lead to rejection.

Probation & Bond:

The payscale for scale I PO cadre is same for all banks with monthly salary of approx. Rs.24450 Although the bank has specified the period of probation to be 1 year, there are no bond conditions for newly joining officers.(read about role of bank po)

  3. Remember to keep this application print, original fee payment receipt & scorecard in save custody without which you wont be able to attend the personal interviews.
