IBPS Specialist Officer CWE 2013 Results & Interviews Announced

IBPS Specialist Officer exam 2013 results,IBPS SO common exam results 2013,IBPS specialist officers common written exam result scores There was a time when banks would take nearly six months and longer to complete their recruitments. But with advancement in testing technologies, the duration has been shortened. The IBPS Specialist Officer exam 2013 results announced recently is an example of this change.

Bank jobs are normally known to constitute of probationary officer (PO) & clerks but specialist officers also form part of this community. While fresh graduates from any stream are eligible to apply for other positions, candidates with specialized qualifications such as BE/ Btech/ MCA etc are only invited to apply for specialist cadre.

In addition to common written examinations for PO & clerk posts Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts similar test for specialist officer aspirants as well.

SO Exam Results – 15000 May Have Passed

The IBPS Specialist Officer common exam was held in March 2013 for various specialized positions in scale I & II cadre.

Since the test was computer based (online) result status were made available last week & now scores are also being displayed at their website here [login using your roll no. and password/ birth date]

The number of qualifiers in each specialty is not known as IBPS has not declared it yet.

While we are trying to get in touch with the officials for a much clearer picture, approx.15000 candidates might have cleared the 2013 SO exam it is expected as the previous exam had 16000 passouts only.

What Next?

IBPS had introduced common interviews for PO & clerks earlier this year. The same are to be implemented for specialist officers recruitment 2013 as well.

Qualifiers can download their interview call letter from ibps.in website starting May 14 for the common interviewing process scheduled to begin on May 27th.

Once the interview results are declared in the 3rd week of June - vacancy lists followed by preference registrations will also be published.

The final allotments for specialist officer posts is tentatively fixed to happen in July, as per the latest notification.

Less No. of Vacancies

PO & clerical cadre employees occupy a major chunk of new recruits in any bank compared to specialist officers. The common reasons are:

  • Since most of these selected would be posted only in head/ regional/ zonal offices, PSB`s appoint 1 or 2 in departments which require their expertise.
  • Therefore the number of vacancies advertised by each bank is also very limited as some banks may not even require a specialized person for that dept.

With RBI pushing public sector banks to reach more villages the need for Agriculture officers has increased.

Looking at some of the hiring activities last year, Agri officers were required in large numbers. The second slot was occupied by IT officers. Those who opted for Marketing/ Technical & HR did not have ample opportunities to apply.

Will the situation change for qualifiers of 2013 specialist officers exam? While we wait to know about it, do share your scores to know where you stand.

IBPS Specialist Officers CWE; Cutoffs Released

ibps spcialist officer exam results 2012,ibps specialist officer exams 2012,ibps specialist officer results 2012,ibps so exam results The bank recruitment space is buzzing with activity. While public banking majors are busy announcing PO & clerk vacancies, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is occupied with conducting exams & publishing results. The 2012 specialist officers exam results were notified today by IBPS.

On the lines of common written examinations for probationary officer & clerk posts, IBPS had also conducted a similar test for specialist officers.

In this article you will know about the following

Accordingly, the 1st specialist officer CWE was held on March 11, 2012 for the following posts

IT officer, Agriculture officer, Rajbhasha adhikari, Law officer, Technical officer, HR/personnel officer, Marketing officer, IT officer & Law officer

Each had a set of educational qualifications to satisfy & applicants were tested on their knowledge about the subject opted for.The written tests would fetch a total of

200 marks & 0.25 will be reduced for each wrong answer as negative mark.

These marks are converted into standardized scores & minimum cutoff score for each test is fixed. Those scoring above this cutoff are treated as pass, while others are considered as fail.

16000 for 4000 Posts

As per a report in businessline, about 16099 candidates have managed to clear the CWE which was attended by approx. 3 lakh. The breakdown is,

Post name No. of registrants No. appeared No.of pass-outs
IT Officer 194755 151058 4394
Technical officer 56633 41760 2332

As expected, IT officer post garnered the maximum no. of registrations but the no. of qualifiers are less compared to Marketing officer cadre.

IBPS director has said that a total of 4000 specialist officer vacancies could exist across 19 public banks.

So keeping this mind, the cutoffs might have been fixed leading to such small group being selected for the next stages.

Cutoff Calculations

The institute has revealed the methods adopted to fix minimum qualifying marks for specialist officer test.

As per it, cutoffs were applied on 2 scores

  1. Individual test paper
  2. Total weighted standard score (TWSS)

So if a candidate has secured the qualifying score of 24 (gen)/ 21 (others) in all sections but failed to cross the TWSS cutoff, he/ she would become ineligible.
