DMRC recruitment 2016 notification was released to fill 3428 vacancies that include Assistant manager, Station controller/ Train operator, Customer relations assistant, Junior engineer, Account assistant & Maintainer jobs.

As there are many positions, some candidates find it difficult to judge for which post they are eligible.With the last date to apply on October 15, 2016 here is a compilation of clarifications for some of your frequently asked queries before you register.

DMRC: Qualification Related Doubts

Question: Is GATE exam score necessary to apply for these jobs in Delhi metro?

Answer: Not necessary for all positions BUT for Assistant Manager (Electrical/ S & T/ Civil), it is compulsory to have qualified in GATE 2016 exam.

Q: Can I apply for more than one post?

A: Yes.If you satisfy the eligibility conditions, you can apply for more than one post but the examinations for certain positions could be held on same date.

  • Written test for Assistant manager (Electrical, S&T,Civil) could be held on one day
  • Test for Assistant Manager (Operations/ HR/ Finance) on one day
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Civil) would be held on 1 day

For all other jobs, the examinations will be conducted on different dates.So while registering for any many posts, keep in mind the clash of dates too.

Q: What is be the job location?

A: After selection, candidates are more likely to be posted at Delhi/ NCR or at any other state in India where DMRC has ongoing projects.

Q: I am 29 years old & belong to general category.Which posts should I apply?

A: You are NOT eligible for any of the job advertised in DMRC recruitment 2016, as

28 yrs is the maximum age limit for general category.

Q: I belong to OBC/ SC/ ST category.What is the maximum age for me?

A: The age relaxation for candidates other than general category is similar to that of any other govt recruitment exam.

OBC: 31 years; SC/ ST: 33 yrs; PWD: 10 years etc., (refer notice for details)

Q: I have completed BE Computer Science.What jobs to apply?

A: Customer relations assistant (CRA)

Q: Junior Engineers: Are engineering graduates eligible to register?

A: Yes, all those who have completed Diploma or Engineering degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical/ Civil can apply.

Q: Station controller/ Train operator (SC/TO): What is the educational qualification?

A: Candidates with the following degrees are eligible for SC/ TO posts:

  • Diploma or BE/ Btech in Electrical/ Electronics
  • BSc or BSc (Hons) in Physics or Chemistry or Maths

No other degrees/ disciplines are allowed to apply.

Q: Customer relations assistant: Do I need computer certificate course?

A: Certificate in computer application course of a minimum 6 weeks duration is needed, if you are interested to apply for this job.

The certificate can be in any computer course such as DTP, MS-OFFICE or others from a recognised institute.Candidates may need to produce it for document verification.

Q: I have MBA degree? What jobs am I eligible to apply?

A: Though, the number of vacancies for MBA candidates are low – here is the list of posts that you are eligible:

  • Assistant Manager (Operations): MBA with 60% marks in Marketing/ International Business Operations/Logistics
  • Assistant Manager (HR): 60% or above in MBA (HR)

MBA degree should be full time & regular (2 year course).

Q: I have Bcom degree.What post to apply?

A: Account Assistant

Q: I am final year/ semester student. Can I apply still apply for these jobs?

A: Yes, final year/ semester & those waiting for results are eligible to participate in DMRC recruitment.

BUT they need to produce proof of having passed the final exam at the time of interview or document verification, that is scheduled to happen by December 2016/ January 2017.

So if you are sure of getting the results before December 2016, you may apply.If not, do not apply as you will be rejected at the end.

Q: What is the job profile & salary for these jobs in DMRC ?

Q: I have performed lasik surgery in my eyes. Am I eligible for any jobs?

A: As per the medical standards of DMRC, candidates who have undergone lasik surgery are NOT suitable for any posts except Account Assistant.

Q: Do i have to sign any bond before joining?

A: Executive cadre (asst.managers) must execute a surety bond agreeing to work for DMRC for atleast 3 years or pay Rs.1,50,000 + cost of training incase of quitting the company before the end of this period.

Non-executive cadre (CRA, SC/TO, Jr engineer, Accounts assistant, Maintainer) should also sign a bond to work for 3 years or pay Rs.75,000, if leaving in advance.
