IBPS Clerk Prelims 2016 Results Out | Mains Exam in January 2017

The IBPS clerk prelims results held in December 2016 has been announced in record time.This is one of the most important event as part of the recruitment of clerk jobs in public sector banks.Be it any competitive exam the total number of passouts determine future course of selection.Likewise these IBPS clerk results will make aspirants to look at further recruitments.

For the first time, candidates willing to appear for clerk jobs in banks had to appear for a preliminary online test.It was held on November 26, 27 & December 3 & 4.

Clerk Prelims Results Out in 5 Days

There was a time when banks took nearly 3 months to release results.Then IBPS reduced it to a month.But now, they have bettered their own record.

Just 5 days have passed after the clerical exams & prelims result status is already out!!

Main Exam in January 2017

All successful candidates of IBPS clerk prelims 2016 must appear for the main exam scheduled to happen on December 31, 2016 & January 1, 2017.

The main exam will be like a normal banking exam with 200 questions from 5 sections – Reasoning, English,Aptitude, General Awareness & Computer Knowledge.

Note: There is a time limit on each section.Without completing one section, you cannot move to another.

Since clerical vacancies are reserved for each state, there will be state-wise cutoffs.So make sure you prepare for IBPS clerk mains exam in a systematic manner.

Scores & Cutoffs

We are hearing that candidates with 60+ attempts have successfully cleared the prelims.But the exact cutoffs & individual scores will be released only next week.

There are two cutoffs that an individual must secure inorder to qualify in the written test.They are applied on:

• on scores in individual section
• on the total score

The prelims exam scores are not considered while preparing final merit lists.Hence you need not fear over securing low marks (see previous year ibps clerk mains cutoffs)

19000 Clerk Jobs To Be Filled

Unlike previous years, IBPS had declared the complete list of clerical vacancies in advance.As per it, a total of 19243 clerk jobs will be filled in branches of 20 public sector banks that are spread across all indian states.

Candidates chosen for these openings would be allotted to their respective banks in April 2017.The joining dates shall differ for each organization but the appointment process would be completed during the financial year 2017-18.
