Q: I turn 20 years only on December 3.Shall I apply for this sbi clerical recruitment?

A: No.The notice clearly mentions the cutoff date as 1.12.2014 & declares those born after 1.12.1994 not eligible.

But if you belong to any reserved category then max.age is relaxed – such as 3 yrs for OBC & 5 yrs for SC/ST

What are the educational qualification that a person must have inorder to register?

Applicants must have completed graduation in any degree as on December 1, 2014

I have 55% in 12th standard, 60% in my degree & belong to OBC.Am I eligible ?

Yes.Applicants from all categories need to have passed in degree.No minimum mark is required.Similarly, your std.XII marks wont be considered while registering.

Should I reside in a state that I submit application for?

Not necessary.State Bank of India has not asked for domicile status & hence you are free to apply for clerk posts in any state even if you are not its resident.

What languages should I know?

Those registering for this SBI recruitment project should be able to write & speak english.

During interview you may be asked few questions in local language to determine your familiarity.So knowledge of regional language would be a plus.

My state has no or less no. of vacancies.Can I apply to other state?

Yes.You can apply for vacancies in any state but remember the following points

  • you will have to appear for the clerical exam from a center located in a state that you apply for.
  • Make sure you have know the local language.Although not compulsory, it can fetch you extra marks in personal interview

If selected, you may have to work in a branch located in that state for first few years.

I don’t know the local language of a state.Is that a problem?

It is not a problem but ‘may’ lower your chance of final selection.Since state bank considers it to be an added qualification, the person with language skills could be selected over someone who doesn’t know it.

Can I apply for two banks if they have vacancies in a state?

No.You can submit your application for vacancy in any one bank & state only.

 

for example, In the state of Maharashtra – SBH has 575 posts & SBP offers 30.So, Individuals looking to work in Maharashtra can apply for any 1 of these 2 banks only.

I am waiting for final semester/year results.Is it possible for me to apply?

No.Final year students & those waiting for their results are not eligible for SBI associate banks recruitment.
