Those registering for this SBI recruitment project should be able to write & speak english.

During interview you may be asked few questions in local language to determine your familiarity. So knowledge of regional language would be a plus.

My state has no or less no. of vacancies. Can I apply to other state?

Yes.You can apply for vacancies in any state but remember the following points

  • you will have to appear for the clerical exam from a center located in a state that you apply for.
  • Make sure you have know the local language.Although not compulsory, it can fetch you extra marks in personal interview

If selected, you may have to work in a branch located in that state for first few years.

It is not a problem but ‘may’ lower your chance of final selection.Since state bank considers it to be an added qualification, the person with language skills could be selected over someone who doesn't know it.
