Of 65000 banking jobs created in 2012 – 33000 belonged to clerical cadre

Interest Decreasing for Bank Jobs?Looking at the response for previous clerical exam (on Dec 2011) one may feel that number of appearances in recently concluded tests have come done due to disinterest.
The table below compares them,
But one interesting to note is the reduction in minimum qualifying scores fixed for each section. An applicant should secure equal to or above a certain score determined after the exams.
Dec 2012 exam sectional cutoffs : 19 (general) & 17 (others)
2011 section wise cutoffs: 24 (gen) & 21 (oth)
They are clearly low from previous levels but such differences cannot be taken as signs of lowering interest levels.
Govt. of India had also proposed many changes in eligibility & test pattern which were implemented by IBPS in this CWE. (see who can apply for bank exams in 2013)
It simply means the selection procedures are fine-tuned to filter few thousand candidates from lakhs. The stats shall help aspirants understanding the level of competition for bank jobs which one must remember during his/her common clerk interview preparations
