Established as an autonomous & came into existence on Nov.1997, it is the largest broadcaster in India.All India Radio & Doordarshan that serve public service come under this body.


SSC is responsible for filling up vacancies in governmental organisations, ministries and related departments.The combined graduate level (CGL 2013) exams are very popular among those aspiring for government jobs in India.

Who are Eligible?

As in other recruitments, SSC has fixed certain eligibility conditions for candidates applying for prasar bharti recruitment.They are,


Engineering assistant:

  • Age not more than 30 years as on Jan 1, 2013 (+5yrs: sc/st, +3yrs: obc) 
  • Degree in Telecommunication/ Electronics/ Electrical/ IT (computer science) / ECE from a recognized university OR
  • Must have diploma in Radio/ Telecommunication/ Electrical/ Electronics/ IT / ECE with 1 year experience in related field OR
  • Any degree with physics as one of the subjects & one yr experience.

Thought not compulsory, knowledge of wireless radio engineering is desirable.



  • Age limit of 18 – 25 yrs as on 1.1.2013
  • Should have passed std.XII (10+2) & Diploma in Electronics/ Telecommunication engineering.


Process of Selection:

There shall be written examination for both positions which consists of two papers (Objective & Descriptive test).

While paper I & II carry 200 marks each, interviews are held for a total of 100 marks.

It is necessary for candidates to secure minimum cutoff marks in each paper.Only those who posses the necessary score in paper –II will be considered for interview stage.

How to Register?

Candidates interested to apply for SSC`s Prasar Bharti engineer recruitment should pay an application fee of Rs.200 at any branch of State bank of India via cash or netbanking.

Applicants from SC/ST/ExSM/PH categories & all women candidates are exempted from paying fees.

Applications should be submitted only through by completing part – II & II registration forms.
