There were 150 questions in total, with each correct answer fetching you 1 mark & 0.25 as negative mark for every wrong answer.

Now let us look at the analysis & review of individual sections shared by candidates.

Numerical Ability & Analytical Ability: These sections were easy for many candidates because of the type of questions asked. It was NOT like the regular IBPS PO exam where we have to perform some high level reasoning.

There were no problems from Partnership, Percentages,Simple Interest, Quadratic equations which are normally seen in most bank exams. It consisted of questions from Profit/ Loss, Speed & Time problems, Puzzles, Syllogism etc.

So all the questions in numerical and analytical ability were quite easy to solve.

Verbal Ability: It is nothing but test of english language with expected questions from synonyms, antonyms, grammar, fill in the blanks, passage, error spotting etc.,

The difficulty level was also not too hard making this section also an easy one.

Computer/ GK: There were 30 questions & was a mix of questions about general knowledge & computers.

Only basics of computer were asked from hardware, networks, internet, email etc. which was answerable by all candidates.Coming to GK, it had questions from Indian history, polity & few from economy.

There were some current affairs questions too related to sports, awards & business events. If one had prepared the previous 3 month current affairs, it was enough to attend all these questions.

Banking Awareness: This is a section that turned out to be a nightmare for all candidates because of the tough difficulty level.

Questions related to laws, sections, RBI rates, policy framing mechanisms etc were completely unexpected by many. Those who had prepared only by reading the headlines were affected because the bank had framed in-depth questions.

There were 40 questions in banking awareness alone, the highest among all sections which itself highlights the importance of it.

Lakshmi Vilas Bank PO & Clerk Cutoffs

As said earlier, the bank had not mentioned the total number of vacancies in their notification. So its quite hard to arrive at lakshmi vilas bank PO & clerk exam cutoffs but looking at the performance, we think the following is possible:

  • Those with 110+ attempts with 100% accuracy can be classified as safe.
  • Cutoffs could be in the range of 100 – 120

Overall speaking, the exam was easy for both PO & Clerk except for Banking Awareness section. It seems LVB is looking for candidates with sound knowledge of the indian banking sector for these positions.
