Why prepare: Organizations look for candidates who posses the required skill set for a specific job.It not only helps companies to filter applicants but also minimize their costs in training them.Similarly, banks have set various eligibility conditions such as computer knowledge in addition to regular educational qualifications.
Computer knowledge necessary: In India, almost all public & private sector banks have networked their branches by computers (core banking solutions) with the aim of providing faster & efficient services to common people.
Do I need certificate or not: Most advertisements for jobs in banks have started to mention computer skills as an essential requirement to be eligibile for applying.
Although certificate in computer course is expected – it is not necessary for those who have studied computers in college.
* If you have not had computer science as part of degree/school subject – a certificate of proficiency in computer operations (MS-Office,Windows etc.) from a recognized training institute is compulsory.
By possessing the essential qualifications beforehand, you would have an edge over others while applying – as 80000 bank jobs are to be created within 2013.
