Bank Exam Question Papers - Common Pattern

bank exams, bank jobs in india, prpearing for clerk exams, how to prepare for bank examsBank exams are similar to competitive exams in the number of sections, syllabus & the type of questions asked. While competitive exams have papers on Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem solving; bank exams tests your knowledge in General awareness & English too.

Although the tests differ for Probationary officers and Clerks, the pattern/ blueprint is mostly same. For all those attending banking exams for the first time, here is a sketch of the question paper. All public sector banks follow similar test pattern for recruitment of Clerk & PO posts.

Duration: The Objective tests in bank recruitments are conducted between 90 mins(clerks) – 150 mins (PO). The descriptive test or english language test is usually conducted for 45 – 60 mins. The process might look complex & time consuming, but with the government planning common test for bank jobs, hope prevails.

Papers: The following are some of the common papers in objective examination,

  1. Test of Reasoning & Numerical Aptitude
  2. Test of English Language
  3. Test for General Awareness
  4. Test of Clerical Aptitude (only for clerical posts)

Banks also have a descriptive test, which is conducted to check your knowledge in english. This descriptive exam has a duration of 60 mins & is conducted for 100 marks, but the marks are not considered for final selection.

Cut-off: Candidates scoring above a minimum cut-off are ranked based on their marks in Objective test & merit list is prepared with the candidate scoring the highest mark at the top.The shortlisted are then called for Group Discussion or Interview.

Whatever it may be - there is lot of buzz to know about upcoming bank exams in 2011

Regarding the descriptive paper it is to be noted that this test is of qualifying nature and its marks are not added to form the merit list but while preparing the merit list it is definitely taken into consideration that the candidate has acquired the 40%or desired marks.

How can we believe that bank recruitment is purely based on performance in written test and other processes when they won't give a copy of our omr sheet and key answers soon after examination

i would like to know that
from objective or descriptive which is evaluated first in order to filter out the candidates?????

Objective test is first evaluated. So if you are not scoring above minimum cut-off, your descriptive test wont be evaluated.
