Railways RRB NTPC & Level 1 Exams in December 2020 | 1.40 Lakh Vacancies

Indian Railways shall start the computer based test (CBT) for a total of 1,40,640 vacancies from December 15, 2020.These jobs were announced under Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC), Level 1 & Isolated/ ministerial categories.

The RRB written examinations were continuously postponed due to official reasons and coronavirus pandemic situation also added to the indefinite delay.

Which RRB Recruitment Exams in 2020?

Indian Railways had released three types of RRB recruitment notifications in the year 2019, for which exams were still not conducted.

  • RRB NTPC – 35208 vacancies (Station Master, Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Junior Clerk, Train Clerk, Jr Accountant, Typist)
  • RRB Group D Level 1 – 103769 vacancies (Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, Assistant Pointsman etc.,)
  • Isolated/ Ministerial/ Others – 1663 (Steno & Teaches etc)

Through these recruitments, a total of 1,40,640 jobs are to be filled in Indian railways.

The 1st stage of selection process – computer based test (CBT) shall start from 15 December 2020, for all the above mentioned vacancies.

With the management working on framing the standard operating procedures (SOP) for conducting exams, it is estimated that details of RRB exam dates would be released in October or November 2020.

2.40 Crore Applications Received!

Indian railways is recruiting in large numbers for the past few years., creating a lot of good opportunities in government sector.This also has made many young graduates to apply and prepare for RRB exams – because of the “sarkari naukri” tag.

For the above 3 RRB recruitments announced in 2019, more than 2.40 crore applications were received, says the official statement from the Ministry of Railways.

This humungous number of applications itself is a proof of the enormous trust placed by youngsters of india on a stable & secure career in Indian railways.
